In the early standing meditation, many people will experience knee pain. Some people endure the pain and persevere, but others will be frightened by the knee pain and give up standing because they are worried that their knees will be damaged.
The main reasons for knee pain when standing meditation are:
1. When the knees are painful in the early standing meditation, this is a normal phenomenon. We have adapted to the state of standing with our legs for a long time. When standing, our legs keep the knees bent for a relatively long time, so it is easy to feel pain. Don’t worry, close the pile It can be relieved on its own.
2. There is a reason for knee pain when standing meditation, which cannot be ignored—that is, there are known or unknown lesions in the knee itself, and the lesions react strongly when standing meditation, so knee pain is caused. Generally speaking, if there are known lesions in the knee itself, such as synovitis, arthritis, bone spurs, meniscus damage, etc., there will definitely be obvious pain reactions when standing meditation. This is a good phenomenon. It is the reaction of the accelerated operation of Qi and blood to repair the knee lesions. In this case, there must be a master's guidance (the wrong standing will lead to more serious knee problems). If you keep standing, the knee pain will become less and less painful. The lesions will gradually disappear.
3. The standing posture is incorrect, and the knee bears too much weight, resulting in knee pain. For example, when standing in a stance, the knees exceed the toes, the buttocks are bent, and the hips are not loosened, which will cause the knees to bear most of the weight of the body, causing knee pain.
4. The muscles and bones are stiff in the initial stage of standing meditation. If the pile is standing at a low position, no matter the posture is right or wrong, there will be knee pain. This situation usually resolves on its own, and you don't need to worry about it. With the accumulation of standing time, the muscles and bones will gradually become soft, and the knee will not be sore when standing.
5. In order to achieve the effect of standing meditation for a short period of time, some people deliberately pursue the time of standing and work hard, but ignore the time intensity that they can bear. After standing qigong for a long time, their knees will become stiff, and pain is inevitable. If you don't have a certain amount of strength on your legs, don't stand for too long in the initial stage. You should do what you can, step by step, and the time will increase little by little. Don't be greedy for too much.
Knee pain is a relatively common physiological reaction during standing meditation. When you practice standing qiqong, the knee should not exceed the toes, the direction of the knee should be consistent with the toes, 70% of the body weight should be placed on the legs, the hips and hips should be relaxed, and the center of gravity should be relaxed. Sink and put more weight on your thighs so you don't injure your knees.
Grasp the strength, height and duration of the standing meditation. After standing meditation, you can lie down, straighten your legs, and let your knees rest for a while. Knee pain after standing, in addition to reducing standing time, mainly sitting and standing as a supplement, you can also massage the knee (of course, you must know the correct massage method) to prevent standing knee Pain occurs.
